  The claim that there was a copying error in the verse from 1 Corinthians 14:22, where Paul states, &quot;tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers,&quot; is unfounded when we consider the context of both this verse and the event described in Acts 2:4-11.<br><br>In Acts 2, we see the apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking in languages they had never learned, and the crowd is amazed as they hear the apostles declaring the wonders of God in their own native tongues. This is a miraculous event, where people from various nations—Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and others—are stunned to hear the message of God spoken in languages they understand, despite the apostles being Galileans. This occurrence serves as a sign specifically for the unbelievers present, just as Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 14:22.<br><br>Rather than being a contradiction or error, these two passages actually align perfectly. In 1 Corinthians, Paul’s statement about tongues being a sign for unbelievers reflects the purpose of the tongues experience in Acts 2. The speaking in tongues in Acts 2 is not just a random event, but a deliberate act of God to communicate to those who do not yet believe, demonstrating His power and presence in a way that surpasses natural explanation.<br><br>There is no copying error in these verses; instead, both passages complement one another, reinforcing the idea that speaking in tongues was a sign for unbelievers, meant to capture their attention and reveal God&apos;s miraculous work.
