  That's the old ATSF TransCon that runs by Peck Park. The old CB&Q  Chicago Sub crosses on the overhead there.

  Great video - that triangle is fantastic for trains. Burlington, when busy, is really fun<br><br>And just to east - Santa Fe hill outside of Chilicothe - love posting up under the bridge

  Great video! I’m a Fort Madison resident and it’s always nice to see coverage of this area, especially Burlington. Seems like the Ottumwa side usually gets ignored since it’s so close to the Transcon.<br><br>You were very fortunate to catch that much traffic in Burlington. The Ottumwa is usually pretty slow these days, and 3 coal trains in a short period of time is far less common than it used to be, sadly. I’ve sometimes spent hours trackside up there with nothing to show for it.<br><br>Also, as an FYI for the next time you’re out this way, the BNSF bridge in Burlington stays down by default, even if there are no trains nearby. It only opens when a boat needs to pass, just like the Fort Madison bridge. 🙂

  The nice thing is that you can sit at the station or walk up above track level on the pedestrian bridge that allowed you to cross over when there was a riverboat casino docked not too far away from where you filmed this train. It&apos;s also a far cry from where the old Amtrak station was located (by the Fort Madison Wastewater Treatment plant for the longest time).
