"Flat Pack Pop: Sweden's music miracle" is a natural continuation. Great documentary available on Youtube.
For more specific focus on Max Martin and his top hits in particular, "The Swedish Songwriter Who's Running the Music Industry" is also a pretty solid video to react to.

Sweden had subsidized studios with instruments that kids from all backgrounds could play. A big part of the ”Swedish music wonder”.

Max Martin as a producer has been around since about 1994. Initially he worked closely with Denniz PoP as Cheiron Studios. Denniz passed in 1998 and the studio closed in 2000. Then Max went his own way.

Robyn gives a good answer to the question in a recent interview - (she just dropped a new album, which of course is a banger, as always). Of course she mentions the same thing everyone mentions: That it's free for Swedish school children to take music lessons and learn an instrument. (It's extracurricular, you don't have to, but a lot of children take the offer since it's free). And if you turn out to be good at it, you are likely to progress through the music education system, which of course is also free, like all education in Sweden is. Also, municipalities typically subsidize, or even offer for free, rehearsal spaces for young people. The idea is it's better to nurture a healthy interest than having kids roaming the streets and getting into trouble.

But she also mentioned the influence of traditional Swedish folk music, which by nature is very melodious: No rhythm instruments, just a singer and a fiddler or two. And finally she surprised everyone by bringing up the wonderful music in the movies and tv series based on the books by Astrid Lindgren, (Pippi Longstockings is the most well-known internationally). A legendary Swedish jazz musician and composer, George Riedel, wrote all of that beautiful music, songs that every Swedish school kid knows by heart.

Myself I would only add ABBA, the trailblazer and the unlikeliest miracle I think in the history of popular music. Their music permeates the DNA of every Swede who is remotely interested in music, whether they know it or not, like it or not. And you could have worse influences, to put it mildly.

There is a well produced documentary by BBC on YT called "Flat Pack Pop: Sweden's music miracle". It tells the story. It's 1h long, but it's very captivating 😊 If you want the story about not only Max Martin, but the whole context, I highly recommend it.

It is incredible how Sweden, the country of ABBA with just over 10 million inhabitants, is at the origin of most of the global pop hits for the music stars seen in the video, such as Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Katy Perry, or Lady Gaga or etc……. I am speechless in front of such a concentration of talent 🌺
