  In uk most of us over 30  would call most of these vids “public information films” not adverts..

  I don't mean to sound harsh but here in the UK we don't bury out heads in the sand like they do in the America. They may be tough to watch.....but they do make you think and ultimately act.

  I would make it clear that most of the alarming ads would be after the watershed, 9pm, when it's assumed that younger kids have been sent to bed.

  Can I be a bit philosophical? I am German (grew up in communist East Germany too!) but I now live in the UK, a country I love. You said you don&apos;t get these types of advert on the TV in the USA. There are probably various reasons but one of them might be the idea of group responsibility and community. Most of these adverts are focussing on either helping others or thinking about your individual responsibility to others. I have found in the UK a great sense of communal thinking in a good way. Even the way they drive involves stopping at a mini-roundabout every few minutes and thinking about who should go first. You don&apos;t get a light to tell you to stop. You have to actually slow down, think about others and make a decision. I have never lived in the USA but I have heard Americans saying individualism is important and to an extent a good thing. But maybe it&apos;s gone too far and people don&apos;t think enough about others.

  Watching people from a nation that calmly brushes off the horrors of actual school shootings, that now happen on a weekly basis in their country,.....brought to tears by British adverts that are aimed at saving lives, is possibly one of the weirdest things I&apos;ve ever experienced.😶🇬🇧
