  I’m really glad you talked about KY’s comment about her dress. I’m not a drag queen so obviously I speak from purely an outsider’s pov but when she talked about how she hates the dress and would never wear it I was like “well that’s a poor way to represent yourself??”. Like both Alik and Naya wore big babydoll looks but still managed to communicate their sense of self in a look that I wouldn’t typically associate with them. It felt like KY thought she was too good for the category and it gave me the ick a bit.

  I think people sometimes think fashion cannot be intellectual and you are the proof that is very wrong. The way you speak about fashion is so amazing, so educated, so eloquent and knowledgeable that shows how fashion really is an art and a science. Thank you for giving us this amazing review, you do it like no other. ❤

  I think it is safe say at this point Behind the Seams is the premier drag race review series going, no? <br><br>So many people let their personal taste cloud their judgement, even to the point of basing their review on “would I wear this?”<br><br>You focus on the concept, the construction, the execution and those kind of things. Whether something is not to your personal taste doesn’t really come into it. <br><br>You can tell you are someone who is very passionate about your craft, has put in the work to excel at it, and wants to offer your expertise to help people no matter their personal style, be the best version of what they want to do.<br><br>You aren’t making videos ranking people in tier lists, making people feel bad to cause drama and boost your own profile or reinforce their our self confidence in what you do, at everyone else’s expense <br><br>You obvs take a lot of care to make sure even queens who present something that is irredeemable, doesn’t walk away from your videos feeling judged, deflated and will never be good enough.<br><br>That is the mark of someone who is excellent at what they do, but most importantly for me, truly knows it. <br><br>People like that dont need to make other people feel bad to make themselves feel good. They simply want everyone else to be just as good, if not better, than them. And go out of their way to try and help people make it happen, for relatively very little reward or benefit for themselves.<br><br>It’s just classy and iconic behaviour at the highest level. Excellence and expertise, without any arrogance or gatekeeping. A very special and valuable thing. I am sure before long there won’t be a single drag artist in the world who isn’t subscribed to this.

  I wonder why we had so many babydoll dresses. For me, Anita&apos;s look was the closest to what I consider kitsch, but I agree it could have been so much bigger. Mocha, as always, did great too. At first, I didn&apos;t understand the fish, but once I saw what she was referring to, I think she nailed it.

  My show is on, I’m ready for Mocha to receive her 10’s once again as she was my favorite look of the ep. Not Lala’s makeover partner being the picture for today lol

  I am SO happy you helped define kitsch! Unfortunately looking for definitions brought a lot of ai with it. I know about kitsch because of a tv show &quot;between art and kitsch&quot;, but the definition is always difficult<br><br>Edit: i cant clip videos here, but you could definitely make a short of your kitsch definition :)
