  It is awesome to see this video reaching a wider audience! Here are some common questions answered.<br><br>1. For the renderings I modeled the house and systems in Rhino, then rendering in Twinmotion. Many of the effects I used were not features in Twinmotion, so I also used a mix of photoshop and premier to make the final visuals. Modeling and rendering alone took around 120 hours!<br>2. To all the Europeans out there saying &quot;Why would you build with wood! Use brick and concrete like us!&quot; Each construction method has its pros and cons. The main factor as to why Europe builds in brick, is economics. Here in the US / Canada we have plentiful forests, making lumber far cheaper and preferred for its flexibility, service cavities, ease of modification etc. Because wood is mode plentiful, carpenters are more common than masons, making the labor cheaper as well. The termite issue and rot of my old wood section is largely a result of poor maintenance over the years, and even with that, the house was still standing 168 years later. Wood can last with proper care. Here is the US building a house all of brick and steal would be 3-5x the cost, not feasible on my budget.<br>3. The thumbnail image for this video, and all my other weekly updates are from my 2021 photo project titled &quot;Rowhomes,&quot; documenting 100 old rowhomes across Philadelphia. The images use photoshop to isolate and highlight each home. It was largely due to this photo project that I was inspired to buy one of these old rowhomes. For full transparency, I used Photoshop AI to extend the backgrounds, as the original photo project is a vertical 4x5 aspect ratio, and youtube thumbnail is 16x9. I have the skills to do this manually in PS, but it would be unnecessary work for a small thumbnail image, and the subject matter (the old home) remains original to the image. It really sucks as an artist to see comments like &quot;AI-Slop thumbnail&quot; because these images are the result of a decade of refining my skills as a photographer / editor.

  I like YouTube home renovations more than HGTV, because these are more often actually rebuilt for people to live in, by the people who&apos;re living in them, rather than being optimized to maximize the use of buzzwords like &quot;Open Concept&quot;, &quot;Modern&quot;, or &quot;Minimalist&quot;.

  Wow. As an owner of a 1924 house, when I first began watching; and, saw you dig into the termite infested wood: My heart and stomach dropped. Seriously. I thought, you poor kid! Little did I know you are a steely-eyed, architectural, knuckle-bustin, good-humored, technical constructin&apos;, mad-genius with the emotional maturity of a space shuttle commander. &nbsp;Wish I was closer to help you do the electrical. Would loved to have been labor with you just to learn the framing engineering you overcame. I just got my interim plan examiner license and learned so much from this. Best to you and your girlfriend from Cleveland.
