Fano is a well-organized freedom fighter group with deep historical roots in Ethiopia’s resistance against the Italian invasion. It currently operates primarily in the Amhara region and has garnered significant support among the Ethiopian populace in opposing the ruling regime. Importantly, Fano is not a militia; it is an independent organization structured into organized military segments, equipped and resourced for its resistance efforts. Unlike the militia, which operates under the authority of the ruling Prosperity Party, Fano is recognized for its commitment to its cause rather than any notoriety. It aims to uphold the rights and aspirations of the people it represents.
