That poor man in the "Rambo" incident... There should've been actual consequences for the TV station, especially considering they lied to police.

I've lived in Japan for over 20 years. When I was first here in the mid 90's, stuff I'd see on TV shocked me. Japan is a weird place.

I know a former NHK weather lady, she was *aped by a Japanese comedian.

She reported the incident to the police, but was told to not report the incident by the police itself.

They said it was too much trouble and wouldn't be good for her.

That's the Japanese police for ya.
NHK fired her, but still invites him on their channel.

That's Japan for ya too.

5:44 This is beyond disgusting. My dad passed away at 74 from complications of Alzheimer’s. If someone tricked him into doing something like this … God help them. What the actual hell is wrong with people?!?

As a foreigner living in Japan, I do not trust the police. Even most Japanese do not trust the police. They will lie and manufacture evidence in order to secure a conviction instead of losing face. Don’t forget mental torture for 21 days without ever seeing a lawyer until you confess for crimes you didn’t commit. It is often in the news.

I love it when people talk about how little crime there is in Japan. The only thing worse than the insane things that have happened there are the inept and incompetent police that allow the criminals to go free. They want you to believe there is no homelessness. Throw crime in the mix as well.

"We already investigated and found that there was no crime. There's nothing we can do."
"How did you investigate?"
"We asked him and he said he didn't do it."
"But there is video evidence that he did do it. They even showed it themselves."
"But the investigation is already closed."
"No, see, what you do is, you arrest him for the crime AND for lying to the police."
"What kind of gajin speak is that, I didn't understand a single word he just said"

If I had a nickel for every time a compilation of disturbing moments captured on Tv featuring a balloon man, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
