Oh lord, imagine calling your mother but not allowed to talk, you just wanted to hear her voice. Just to find out shes blocked your number. That was definitely her being held hostage

The 80s and 70s seem to be a scary time, you could easily get kidnapped and never be seen ever again. Criminals can get away from anything.

Sounds like someone knew she was home alone

  15 - 21 ??? That's a pretty big age gap.

Anyone else have weird vibes about the mother? The girl wanting to run away, stopping the calls, moving away and changing names. Reminds me of the Johnny Gosch case where the parents seem shady too (or the various other missing children cases that have shady parents)

If your daughter got kidnapped, and you believed she was still alive, why would you change your phone number, change your last name, and move away to a different state?

The person who did this could still be alive and probably is.

Okay, wait, mom goes to a tennis match and returns home without the boyfriend at 1:45 am?

Changing her number is diabolical.  That was her one way to reach her mom and she took it away.

The unanswered questions after 46 years make this case incredibly heartbreaking.

She changed her number because she felt daunted with the fact she couldn’t locate or help her. If someone kept calling me breathing on the phone, that would wreck my nerves especially my kid. HOWEVER I would not have given up. But imagine going years and years receiving calls with no leads? No, she’s not like most parents but some people are not mentally equipment to deal with his much torture. Every second the child is being harmed and you can’t save or even talk to them. She might have thought at one point it was the kidnappers doings as well. You never know unless you’re in those shoes. Didn’t help the girl wanted to run away and could have staged the break in as well. Too many angles here…
