  Ninjago didnt kill it. Legos strategy for all their own series is to kill them after a few years. That happened before ninjago. That was planned for Ninjago too. Chima was planned as successor.

  While Hero Factory was the technical successor to BIONICLE, I eventually saw Ninjago as the true, unintended successor - even though they’ve got two vastly different building systems. It’s impressive Ninjago hasn’t gotten a full-on reboot at this point, I don’t think LEGO was fond of BIONICLE’s complex mythology in the end.

  You got the Bionicle situation all wrong, let me explain, Ninjago started being written and created around early 2009 to be a short lived theme from 2011-2013, or a ‘craze product’(thats why the first year all the sets revolved around the spinner game) Bionicle started showing cracks after 2008 when they developed the new storyline trying to start from scratch so new fans wouldn’t be overwhelmed, so first of all Ninjago could’ve not have been a descendant if Bionicle was just rebranded, second of all Ninjago took inspiration from Bionicle, but you are missing the elephant in the room with Hero Factory, an actual constraction theme who took more inspiration, not only this but it actually had “From the makers of Bionicle” branded on the packaging, iT IS just a coincidence Bionicle ended one year before Ninjago was released but the 2010 wave wasn’t even supposed to exist as Hero Factory had its first in the same year
