Satire and genuine sentences are very hard to distinguish when it&apos;s only conveyed by text, so you can never be 100% sure that something is a joke or not if it hasn&apos;t been stated as such.

  The differences in sentences are just a combination of a lot things, the person’s history, the variables of why they’re doing it, the perceived potential for them to continue to be dangerous, the laws of the specific state/country they’re in, the separate details of what it is they’re trying to do and on how many victims, how good their lawyer is at arguing their case, and even just the particular proclivities of the judge that got their case<br>Things are rarely just taken as, ‘this person did the same thing as this person, they get the same sentence’<br>There are a looootttttt of variables that go through the lengthy court system that are tailored to each individual instance that changes what they’re ultimately sentenced with

THe tax agency here in the uk is called HMRC, my sisters first tax return was incoming when she got a message from &quot;HMRC&quot; saying she got £3000. she nearly went through and gave them their info till she mustve realised something was off and just double checked with dad who put a stop to it. so yeah, you never know what sate of mind you might be in to miss those red flags
