Even if you aren’t a musician… watching someone be a true master of their craft is so impressive. He just makes me feel better.

I was there, and both the audience and the orchestra loved it. Smiles and cheers all around. This was just a fun interlude in a two-hour concert, featuring Ben Folds, Laufey, and dodie. Jacob wasn’t even supposed to be there, and his appearance was unadvertised. He had just finished two solo shows with the orchestra that week, and Folds asked him to stay in town to hop into this one. The orchestra knew him very well by this point and were fully on board. There are two other amazing performances from this same concert featuring Jacob that cannot be missed: Wild Mountain Thyme with Laufey and dodie, and Summer Rain with dodie. Both are on YouTube. Bring tissues.

6:40, brilliant heart, rather than mind. His mind follows his heart. Jacob's soul is free 🧡

It's beautiful because it shows a total respect for the orchestra. He's giving them the light to show their own talent.

I asked to be or not to be - was when the castaways on Gilligan’s Island were trying to convince the great Harold Hecuba to rescue them! Thanks for that GREAT memory!!!
