What people don’t realize about Larry is that if he played now at his age he’d still be the best player in the NBA. 👊🏆💐

A friend of mine was a ball boy for the Jazz. He watched Bird give an interview while, shooting 3 pt corner warm ups. He was only player on the court. He was standing 3 feet out of bounds. Bird hit 20 shoots in a row, and never watched one ball go in the hoop because he would look at the reporter after each shot.

If i remember right, some player (i think Paul George) said his team kept missing threes the game before. Next morning during practice, Bird came in, started jacking up threes one after another, than set down looking at the players without saying anything.

Even pissed, he expresses himself by giving the example! No need for long speeches. 10 threes in a row all net will do.

I lived next to Boston and was fortunate enough to see him quite a few times. I think i was most impressed that in his final years when his body was battered and fragile, Larry was still playing with reckless abandon, diving on the floor and the stands for loose balls with out worry that his next dive could be his last. His work ethic and passion even exceeded his legendary talent.
