This is great. I've played the Catalan from 1700 to 2000 now but I can already tell I'm gonna learn new things from this video.

I'm a Catalan player but I didn't know the full repertoire until this video. This was so useful and the best opening video I watched, thank you!

It's funny because most of the lines in the Catalan revolve around black taking on c4, but I'm willing to bet that below tournament level most players with black aren't brave enough to do that and just play the closed

This is by far one of the best chess channels. I wanted to learn the catalan and its hella complicated but you bring this over without making someone think once that youre arrogant because of your rating. Bcs most chess youtubers say things like: But thats too complicated for yall so just play this. You at least give options and its very entertaining.

Just realized this video overlooked the hybrid Gruenfeld Slav set up (eg, a kingside fianchetto & c6/d5) which Kasparov in his heyday often favored.

Excellent video! If I had only found this earlier it would have saved me month’s of work trying to understand the basic’s of the different branches of the Catalan. As is, this video very good overview. Well done; Bravo!
