I hate that debt collection agencies will buy debt usually 10 cents on the dollar or less, and expect you to pay the full prior amount. I think they file hundreds of thousands of lawsuits in bulk just to legally catch those who don't respond and collect money without working for it.

Why are these debt collectors still allowed to do such fraud? Suing someone they never did business with? It's insane.

Challange them to show chain of custody of the debt. They will not be able to do it! It angers me judges even allow these cases in their courts.

The attorneys that show up for trial normally are there to just fill in for the debt collector. I simply won my case by showing up and challenging the amount owed. The attorney had no paperwork to prove the case. The judge ruled in my favor with prejudice.

Im screwed. I didn’t research and got scared and signed a confession of judgment. Im simply spread too thin. I can't pay my bills. I think im going Chapter 7.

The sad thing is the courts lay in the same bed with some of these companies. Rules supposed to apply on both sides. If they don't show up the case should be over but it's not they continue and when you file against it they deny it. But we don't show up the court is QUICK to submit their request for default judgement. BAD PRACTICES.

I asked for arbitration to the judge , judge gave me certain amount of time to file it. I did it within time. The judge some reason changed their mind and ruled against me…

I helped my ex-wife file a answer. The debt collector showed up and when they found out we were there waiting they withdrew before the case when the judge called it to hear. Not sure what the thinking was behind that.
