  I'm a storm chaser in Kansas, and I've lived here my whole life.  I love Kansas,  people always look at me weird when I say that,  but it's so much more peaceful here, there's a slower pace, the prairie is such a unique ecosystem with a lot of unappreciated beauty, our sunsets are unmatched,  and we have the best storm chasing terrain the country.  You can see the entire life cycle and structure of a storm from miles away, and there's nothing like the sound of thunder in the distance while the prairie birds are singing around you.  I grew up in Wichita in a house that was a 100 year old Victorian era mansion and tbe original farmhouse for that area, theres a lot of beautiful of Victorian houses out here, especially in small towns like Sedgwick and even Hutchinson.

  I’m a Kansas writer and storm chaser. I’ve lived throughout the Flint Hills in Emporia, Council Grove and Manhattan (but now I’m in SW KS). I agree with cowboy poet and rancher Jim Hoy (RIP) when he wrote: “The Flint Hills is a place where you can catch your breath.” Cheers for a well done production! ☕️

  Great work! &nbsp;My wife and I grew up in Wichita. It’s so difficult to explain the Flint Hills. It’s really like no other place.

  Well done! I went to K-State and know every crack of the road on Highway 177. The Flint Hills is home for my soul.

  I grew up in Bazaar KS. I miss the Flint Hills, rolling hills and sunsets that are unrivaled.

  I grew up in Kansas and Montana. &nbsp;Montana may be called Big Sky Country, and that&apos;s fine, but in the Flint Hills the sky seems endless - a perfect place for weather watching. &nbsp;In my memory, the Kansas sky was more dramatic than the land. &nbsp;Now I&apos;m 80 and living in beautiful Michigan, but I long for the Kansas sky and the Montana mountains.

  Thank you!! I have a large print of a pic I took at the buffalo research area at K-State from a gravel road at the top of a hill, and it goes on, and on, and on, to where you can barely see the snow-capped Rockies at the top of the horizon. Incredible.

  Thank you so much for creating this wonderful content, Nick! &nbsp;The combination of local interviews with striking landscape shots really helps this video stand out, and I especially appreciated the reference to Roniger Hill and its connection to William Least Heat-Moon. &nbsp;Videos like this help me with my work in communicating the importance of local conservation, so I am sincerely thankful for type of content. &nbsp;I&apos;ll be sure to share this video with my coworkers and peers in WSU&apos;s Biology Department, as we all care deeply about the tallgrass prairie in addition to the rest of our state&apos;s ecoregions.
