  Ive been to Sri lanka more than 2 time so far. I understand that you&apos;re trying to stay in very cheap places in Sri Lanka but keep in mind that 1 USD is around Rs. 300, making everything quite affordable compared to where you’re coming from. You could actually stay in a 5-star accommodation without much hassle, as they are also reasonably priced. If you choose very cheap options, there might be some issues and tourists often end up complaining about small things while expecting a 5 star experience from budget places. This is different from other countries so it’s good to set the right expectations. Im just saying. Have fun in Sri Lanka.

  The canals often have high levels of nutrients (like nitrogen and phosphorus) from sewage, industrial waste, and fertilizers. This encourages algae blooms, which give the water a greenish tint. Some floating plants like duckweed may also contribute to the color<br>Pollution and Sediments – Wastewater, garbage, and industrial discharge reduce water clarity, making it look murky green. The stagnant nature of the canals also the reason for the bad smell. Usually locals don&apos;t use this pathway.
