Guys, listen, you still need runways. You can built an impregnable air base storing planes, fuels and weapons out of reach. The thing is, you cannot hide a mile long runway. Once the runway is cratered, the whole base is out of commission.

It’s amazing what you don’t see and hear when you don’t want to

Just plug and destroy that entrance, that base would be incapacitated.

If that runway was bombed then the mountain airbase would be useless even if the aircrafts were safe inside.

The point was to provide a safe storage and maintenance facility. The runway must be outside.

What the North Koreans should have done was build the runway hangar inside the mountain with two openings that could be closed if an attack was imminent. The aircraft would accellerate down the runway and exit the opening and then return to land using the other opening on the opposite side of the long hangar deck. The landing part would require skillful piloting to not slam into the mountain wall.

No way they can build a secret base without us knowing, ever heard of satalites or recon sense flights. Do you think we wouldn't notice equipment and trucks moving and get curious?<br>Not to mention it would be hard if not impossible to hide a runway
