  This film had a very dramatic impact on the life of Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan). He's spent much of his life since doing charitable services for US veterans. He's an incredibly good man.

  My favorite movie trivia comes near the end of the movie. Forrest becomes terrible at Ping-Pong because his son is the most beautiful thing he's ever seen... so he takes his eyes off the ball.

  Glad you guys enjoyed it. I feel sorry for Jenny. She told Forest to run, because that is what she did from her Father's abuse and sexual advances. She runs the entire movie until she can't. Both run for different reasons. God bless you all.

  Your father saying that ‘bullets look like fireworks at night’ was both beautiful and heartbreaking. It was so interesting to see which parts of the movie resonated with your parents individually. I look forward to seeing more from your lovely family!

  It was the 70s no cell phones, and Forrest ran for over 3yrs without letting anybody know where he was. Jenny could have called Forrest house phone to let him know but he wasn&apos;t there. She wrote the letter after finding out she was sick.
