"Hope is much more terrifying." In the legend of Pandora's box, she opened it and all the world's troubles flew out. She closed it quickly, but the only thing left inside that she got to keep was hope. Some people think this was a good thing, but in the original legend, it was a curse.

A tea cosy. As we all know a man left alone in a room with a tea cosy will want to wear it as a hat.

Domestic cats have vertical slits to help judge distance and see in a range of light conditions; while big cats, such as lions and tigers, have round pupils because they hunt in the day, are larger, and therefore don't need the specific depth perception benefits that vertical slits provide for ambush hunting near the ground.

Hope is more terrifying because it is very fragile. Disappointment can be crushing

Guys please please do The Royle Family. It gives an excellent representation of what it was like to grow up 'working class' in the 90s in Britain

Liam Neeson grew up as a Catholic in Ballymena (which is mentioned in Derry Girls a few times) a town about 50 miles east of Derry.

The Liam Neeson moment was an excellent surprise! I was waiting for your reaction to that from the start. And getting Uncle Colm to come and be their Appropriate Adult was genius on Erin's part!
You missed the throwaway remark by the video store guy that he'd previously been interned - that is detained and imprisoned without trial. It was a strategy to try and get on top of the violence in NI during The Troubles. But the video guy really doesn't strike one as someone who the Police would suspect of involvement in violent struggle. It's one of those moments in the show where the curtain is momentarily drawn back to remind us that Derry in the 1990's wasn't what most of us would consider as a 'normal' place to live.
