I love that they played Stars and Stripes on piccolo and completely ignored the piccolo solo in the grandioso and just played the regular trio.

I went on a 10 hour journey to the nearest music store to get a new screw for one of my piccolo’s mechanisms and they didn’t have it. I finally found it on the carpet at home.

A group of us were on a road trip to an event a couple hundred miles away. One fellow pulled out a sopranino recorder and started tootling away. Another guy couldn't take it any longer, grabbed it and threw it out the window. The sopranino player looked sad, then he brightened up and pulled another one out of his sleeve and started tootling away. That one got thrown out the window as well. He then pulled one out of his other sleeve. We all broke out laughing except the guy that was throwing them out the window. He sulked the rest of the way. The first guy had been waiting for ages to play that prank and he had a few more recorders ready to go. They were just some plastic cheapo recorders so no good instruments were harmed ;)
