I still think Thai Cons are the best looking and it’s great that they’re stable. Some of these new types are fine but the price tags really turn me off. I mean, I think most of us learned that all of these will drop in price significantly if we’re patient.

Thank you for bringing us all these new plants that we would otherwise never see. And also for introducing us to all of these interesting plant hybridizers and collectors. ❤😊

Hi Sean you’re actually my inspiration in doing youtube because I don’t really have an avenue of sharing my love for plants. I am on the budget side of things thu so my collection is a little conservative. I’m really happy that we share the same love for plants and I learned so much from you. Thank you! Much love from the Philippines

Hi Sean! As a Monstera deliciosa collector, I really enjoyed this video even though I knew almost all of the varieties already. It's great to get some background info like where they came from but also more precise descriptions that a single picture or video can't convey (like the fact that new leaves emerge a certain colour but turn a different colour when they harden). These are the details that will allow us to differenciate between the ever-increasing number of varieties that are flooding the market at the moment.

I'm thankful that awareness around mutations is making more and more people collect them instead of them being tossed into compost but I wish that the prices overseas were more reasonable. I'm in Canada and usually find variegated large-form Monsteras for around $60-$200 from local sellers, most of them are sports with no name. The most expensive ones are imports and range from $500 to $2000 but there aren't many people who are ready to pay that much for a plant around here. Tropical plant collecting is a hobby that's most popular in the lower to medium classes while rich people usually find a different specific niche of plants to collect.
