Ke Huy Kwan, the actor playing Short Round, has fond memories of Harrison Ford teaching him how to swim during the filming of Temple of Doom.

Kate capshaw who played Willie was chosen for her unbelievable scream and went on to become Mrs Spielberg.   You'll love the 3rd one of the best movies ever.

The dinner menu items are fictitious, not part of traditional Indian cuisine. It was meant to show that things were not right at the palace. There is a deleted scene where Indiana says something like "something's not right here, they don't eat that stuff"

This was the movie that officially launched the need for the PG-13 rating. There was a period in the 80s when movies were breaking the line from PG and cutting close to an R rating. They then realized we needed a movie rating system for something in the middle.

Within the first few minutes of the movie, text appears on the screen that reads, "Shanghai 1935" . The first movie starts with the text reading, "South America 1936" . Most people miss that. It's probably why everybody told you it was a prequel. Either way I love all of your reactions, I don't think I've missed one yet lol. Take care and I'm looking forward to your future endeavors :-).

According to expanded lore, Shorty, birth name Wan Li, followed Indy to the states where he went to Boarding school, became an archeologist, and, in Hawaii, in 1957, managed to find the Peacock's Eye,  the diamond that Indy lost at the Obi-Wan Club at the beginning of the film. By then, he was 31 years old.

This was shot in Sri Lanka and those are giant fruit bats. They migrate twice a day and the crew shot them to work into the story. It was an on set improv.

You being told it was a prequel wasn’t really a spoiler. Both movies state in text on screen which year they are taking place in. Raiders takes place in 1936. Temple of Doom takes place in 1935. 🤙
