  My dad would always joke that you spend the first year of a kids life encouraging them to walk and talk and the rest of their life asking them to sit down and be quiet 😂 having four kids it can absolutely get loud!

  Late, but in a lot of island cultures we have very large 1st birthday parties. I was told it’s because, babies are more likely to survive if they’ve made it to one. moms would feel better, like you’re describing. It’s so natural it’s baked into cultures.

  I teach preschool and can confirm— it’s usually the boys who are feral and rough for the most part, and the girls that &nbsp;are more chill. HOWEVER, I have at least one chill, gentle boy and one absolutely feral girl every single year, and I love it. My classroom has a play kitchen area, a baby doll area, a tool table, and shelves full of trucks, tractors, cars, and stuffed animals, plus a bookshelf full of age appropriate books. The kids pretty equally play with all of it, but it’s usually the boys fighting over the cars and the girls playing nicely😂 Gender stereotypes exist for a reason, but my job is not to push those on any children— they’re allowed to explore and choose what they want. And the feral ones are secretly my favorite😂
