  Daniel represented TV Titograd, not Zagreb - Montenegro, not Croatia. Also, his backup singers were present many times at ESC as backing singers and main artists. One of them, Izolda, was part of Aske in 1982.

  The UK had already hosted the Eurovision twice before 1968 taking over from the Nethetlands in 1960 and France in 1963.

  Ofra Haza died of an AIDS-related illness and was - to put it mildly - pilloried and called all sorts of names in her home country.

  Marlene Charell&apos;s language salad.... gosh we did parodies on that one..... she was so overwhelmed with three languages involved..... so funny looking back... but i think there were some nice entries, but the absolute wrong song won, because it took ESC even further away from current pop music than Nicole already did... it was the commercial break which lead to hardly any future ESC winner would have big hits, with a few exeption... &nbsp;Sweden or Yugoslavia would have been better. Israel was great, but i think the other two would have brought more commercial appeal to &nbsp;ESC.. &nbsp; &nbsp;But Corinne Hermes had the best vocals... stunning.. but the song was outdated as hell in a time when Human League, ABC and Eurythmics started dominating radio...

  1983 was a fantastic contest in terms of lineup, and Dieter Reith’s orchestra for BR might be the best the contest has ever seen. &nbsp;So it’s a real shame that the weakest song in my view won the contest. &nbsp;It’s certainly the moment the contest loses its commercial relevance, I think.

  With all your negativity, I was worried that you would be dissing the Eurovision QUEEN Carola! <br>But apart from that, I have to agree, there&apos;s a lot of mediocre songs this year. But I am impressed at the host being able to say so much in three languages! Yes, it takes longer, and I&apos;m glad they didn&apos;t do that every year, but it&apos;s still impressive. Later, we&apos;ll usually have different hosts doing different languages...

  Opera by Cetin Alp in my view is better than the Spanish traditional style music and should have been better than that 0 point. Its fun.
