  Put a rock in a pan at the end of the sluice to catch your tailings and then do your half bucket, it's the best way to tell if your loosing gold out of the sluice. if your not losing gold, you can run more material. There is a certain degree of angle a sluice should be on to be the most efficient at leaving the gold and cleaning away the lighter material. Would suggest you do this and keep running half buckets until you start seeing gold in the tailings. This will give you a good estimate of the load the little sluice can handle. I would also suggest bringing a cheap, small plastic bubble level and a small plastic ruler to set the sluice angle perfectly. (Aprox. 1 inch of drop per linear foot of the box). The ideal angle for a sluice box is typically between 5-7 degrees. This angle allows most round rocks and pebbles to pass through easily, while preventing the material from zipping through too quickly. It is crucial to adjust the angle based on the size and weight of the material, the riffle design, and the speed of the current. For fine gold recovery, setting the sluice box at a reasonable angle is essential to ensure that the gold is not washed away by the water flow. For flour gold I would highly recommend using miracle mat, though you have some pretty chunky bits, perhaps 2 different mats? 1 for flour and the other for catching bigger bits??  Great video as always, love living my dream vicariously through your adventures :)  Cheers!

  70yr old prospector here Love your video adventures.  I been chasin the yeller devil for over 50yrs and what I wouldn't give to be 20yrs younger an get to follow you on one of your adventures.  I've back packed up creeks and camped for a few days in the good ol US 🇺🇸 but never like you my friend.  That yeller devil is a sneaky one for sure.  Don't worry about the naysayers Sir most of them do it from a recliner in a nice warm home. Once again GREAT VIDEO continue on Sir BECAUSE THERE'S TREASURES OUT THERE TO BE FOUND  ! 😊

  Levi, I don't watch for monetary gain or to learn a new skill, and I certainly don't watch to pick apart or judge the way you do things. I watch for the sheer enjoyment of seeing someone who has a passion for their hobby, even if it is hard, risky, tiring and with no guarantee of a payoff in the end.   If your goal is having fun then carry on.  If your goal is maximizing your gold recover then the old adage 'time is money' applies here.  I've been dredging/sluicing for 40 years.  You're wasting your time cleaning up that often.  Your flow is good. Unless your riffles are yellow keep going.  You can sluice all day without cleaning up.

  Your top mat is showing air bubbles, which will cause gold to flow around them and be lost. &nbsp;Recommend you rub down the top of the mat to pop the bubbles before you begin loading your material. &nbsp;You&apos;ll catch more gold with this method. &nbsp;Cheers from St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
