  To be fair, for the journal part, Hornet did, by her movement, bait the Pilgrim into jumping to their death.<br>If you&apos;re using tacks, and make an enemy die on the tacks, it counts as killing them, right? What are those spikes, if not big, stationary, environmental tacks for anyone to use?<br>She is a hunter after all, what she did is bait an opponent into a trap.<br><br>Also for Lace, the 2nd journal entry basically says she&apos;s born of silk, which is what Hornet says after the cradle fight, soo, that also tracks

  The reason Lace 1 isn&apos;t enough is because she&apos;s holding back her move set. In Lace 2 she pulls out all the stops.<br>Thus, only Lace 2 is necessary to understand everything about Lace.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exmBGo9BjYc&amp;t=955">15:55</a> no, its not inconsistent. in cradle hornet learns that lace is made ouf of thread, just like the journal states. its the conversation that makes her write in the journal, not the amount of times u defeat her. hornet doesnt learn stuff by defeating her twice, she learns stuff by defeating her specifically in the cradle. this is when they have a genuine conversation and lace reveals stuff about herself. hornet doesnt write it in the journal in deep docks, because they dont talk about that there. and even if u do skip lace in deep docks, u still meet her in sinners road/blasted steps and have a very similar conversation to the one in deep docks. so essentially in both playthroughs hornet knows the exact same things about lace except her moveset

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exmBGo9BjYc&amp;t=920">15:20</a> the wiki or patch notes also mention a bug where you unlock the journal entry for lace halfway through her 2nd fight<br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exmBGo9BjYc&amp;t=990">16:30</a> I believe there are a few other cases<br>Some entries get autocompleted like wraiths and verdania enemies when you get locked out of completing them<br>This is not the case for flintbeetles but you can lock yourself out of defeating enough even though you killed atleast 1 before<br>And regarding bosses<br>I think 4th chorus&apos; entry is automatically unlocked if you enter act 3 and skipped it initially

If an enemy ever becomes completely inaccessible, and you&apos;ve killed at least one to put it in the journal in the first place, its journal entry will automatically complete itself on the spot. This happens with Old Heart dream enemies like the entire Coral Tower. It happens with Wraiths after you stop Phantom from creating The Mist. It happens with Clawmaidens if you destroy their silken source.<br><br>However, the absolute funniest example of this happening out of any possible journal entry... is the (non-iridescent) Flintbeetle. You know, that enemy from the early game Flintgem sidequest that just gives you a Memory Locket? If you killed at least one Flintbeetle, and then completely ignored the rest of the sidequest all the way through to Act 3 when Bone Bottom is destroyed and you can no longer turn in the quest, the other Flintbeetles will disappear and the journal entry will complete itself. (If you actually do this, the Memory Locket is just on the ground in the Survivor&apos;s Camp, thus becoming the singular reason you would ever need to go there.)

  The fact that you get Lace&apos;s journal entry even if you skip her still makes more sense than getting trobbios journal entry after beating tormented trobbio lmao
