A duplex is interesting because one property can generate two streams of rental income.

I house hacked my triplex and duplex in NC, both bought 0 down-payment with a va loan. I now lease them both to non-profit organizations by the bedroom with property management $315k triplex 6 beds x $750=$4500, $367k duplex 8 beds x $750=$6000 per month i have 6 months reserves in high yield acct i love it. I luckily found the 4 square method to make my purchases make sense thanks to bigger pockets back in the day. You should do a video on that it saved me when the increases came knocking.

Great point that FHA makes entry cheap. But it glosses over how living next to your tenant can be quietly miserable. Anyone house hacked and regretted sharing a wall?

I love my duplex and I have taken loss after loss but eventually you learn. I only wish I had got a rental management company in the beginning. 8% a month is well worth it. Hire a professional!!! ❤

Awesome breakdown of duplex economics! The reality check on hidden expenses and maintenance around [11:30] was eye-opening. House hacking with an FHA loan is such a smart move! What’s your take on duplexes vs. triplexes for beginners? Keep up the great content, Ned!

Please read your mortgage contract to make 100% certain you are not unknowingly committing mortgage fraud, by renting it all out, and you not personally living in your home

This video is surprisingly accurate
