  I've gotten to the age/point in my career where in situations like this, we call in a Vac Truck until we can see everything.

  I am a retired Plumber. There is an easy temporary fix for the no water to the one house. Shut of the main valve on the broke line in that house. Then run garden hose from one house to the other. Use a wash machine hose (Has 2 female ends) to hook them together.

  I’m sure there’s a number of good welders/boilermakers and operators in southern Indiana.   However, what you both demonstrate, is a real ease and genuine friendliness when communicating with people.  Unfortunately, this is a skill that so many no longer possess.  Keep up the great work.  Thank you.

  Mike, regarding the broken water line, it is clear to me that you knew EXACTLY what you were doing and where the line was. Arron just dropped the ball and didn't enform you that there was a coupling in the line there. Thus, throwing you off by 1/8" and causing the broken line. 😅

  Long water lines need to be increased in diameter to reduce pressure drop. Typically Poly lipe is used to reduce the joints/pressure drop.

  For the folks that don't recognize it. You are seeing some damned fine operating skills right here. You have people that can "run" an excavator, people that are "operators" and then there are a very small percentage of people like Mike. Hats off sir not everybody can do what you did here.

  I fully sympathise with you on this job, a few years back we were called out to a housing estate where water had leaked and was slowly flooding the place. the local council records for where all of the utilities run underground was vastly inaccurate.<br>Over the years, they had replaced the water pipes, but never took out the old ones. plus some of the old mains pipes had never been disconnected, the council had just dug another hole and placed new pipes in their.<br>Plus in the same trench there was high powered electricity, gas, phone lines, fibre optic WiFi.<br>The plans showed the highest utility was the Fibre optic.<br>We dug down less than 4 feet. there was a loud bang and a flash, water shot up 50 feet in the air.<br>We spent 2 weeks carefully digging it all out by hand in the end.<br>We now have the contract to dig out everything and renew the lot in separate trenches.<br>We were extremely lucky as the mains gas was only inches from the high voltage.<br>So 1 bust pipe was more than acceptable for the D.P. team.
