I lived in the Trinity area for many years. The Loop was the place to go. What really hurt the loop when it was closed down( besides the idiots vandalizing it) was Hurricane Igor. Thats why the tracks are under the ground. It really did a massive amount of damage to the place.

I really appreciate that you keep your episodes to around 28 minutes. Long enough to enjoy while eating breakfast, but not too long to overtake the whole day. Thanks Dustin

Those big rocks are all part of the Appalachian Mountains which many people don't realize extend from the Gulf of Mexico, through the eastern United States, all the way up to Newfoundland, the east coast of Greenland, across to Great Britain, and on up to the Caledonian Mountains in Norway and Sweden. This one massive, ancient mountain range was once all connected when the earth was one big continent 300 million years ago.

Imagine if vandalism did not exist. The richer history we would see.

Thank you for sharing these resettled places. You not only bring us the unique visuals of these abandoned places, but you also let us ponder the human cost of having these people's lives uprooted.<br>You have a knack for making these settlements come back to life, if only for a brief moment.

Love that humanity still exists in a few spots. Pull the boat up to a re-settlement town and meet folks that invite you in for a few Rum and Cokes! My kind of folks. Great episode.

I was hoping you wasn’t going to the Loop but I knew you would. Im from Trinity, back in the 90’s this was the place to go. The amusement park closed in ‘05. The train cars was a restaurant and the bigger building was a gift shop. The other buildings were cabin rentals. There were other train cars but some were removed. All the gravel covering the track was put there because of flooding during hurricane Igor in 2010. The significance of the Loop before the park was it was (maybe still is) the only visible loop in North America. There are others but inside of mountains in the Rockies
