  There is a very fine line between "confidence" and arrogance, and unfortunately to us in the UK, most Americans appear to be very arrogant. It is possible to be confident and quiet at the same time.

  I&apos;m in the UK. My son and I were once on a train from London to the North (where we live). When we got on the train we took our seats at the table we had reserved. An Italian couple got on the train with their two children and realised they had made an error booking their seats (they had the two seats on the other side of the table from my son and I, plus two other seats nearby). It is very easy to make a mistake when reserving seats on a train: done it loads of times myself. I looked at my son and he nodded. We packed up our stuff and offered our seats so the whole family could sit together. It is nothing more than common courtesy and good manners.

  Next time you&apos;re in the UK, let me know. Not much of a local guide, because I have mobility issues, but I&apos;ll cook you a stonking traditional English dinner and chat with you, your wife and your girls for hours. I&apos;m in rural Lincolnshire &amp; this is a genuine offer (don&apos;t want to be filmed)! <br>You seem such a lovely bloke. Glad to have you &amp; your family here any time.
