Bens art gives new meaning to, "you can find art anywhere". So unexpected. He seems like a nice man, glad you got a chance to meet him.

I'm from Ghent, Belgium. Years ago I was waiting at a bus stop in the center, and thought I saw a homeless person with dirty clothes next to a cafe, laying on the floor. An unusual place to be sitting since it is a busy sidewalk. Then I saw the 'homeless' person was actually Ben and he was making some art of some old gum blobs :)

The Button is the Cardigan Millitia (Prince of Wales Own) as used on the 1797 pattern Infantry coatee made of pewter (Other ranks) and silver gilt for officers. The smaller Star Wars figure is an Imperial snow trooper from The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Missing his thermal field skirt. The larger figure is Rea from Episode VII The Force Awakens (2015) as Played by Daisy Riddley, Grandaughter of playwrite Arnold Riddley (Of Dad's Army fame). hopefully this has gone some way to answering your questions😃

Very nice finds. Ben was the rarest and most valuable in my eyes, such a great artist. Speaking of artists, I've been missing your own great artwork, Nicola.

Nicola, you give us so much in taking us along on your adventures. During Victoria's rolling lockdowns it was such a treat to join you every week. Angelo is so charismatic and articulate - may his album fly into the charts!

Wow, I so enjoyed seeing the artwork by the Chewing Gum Man and learning how he goes about creating these little tokens of art behind for all to enjoy on their travels around town. Great work Sir! Also, it is so nice to see Angelo again and I wish him and his band much success on their new album. Sending you big hugs and much love from the USA! ❤

I would like to say this:
I just returned home from a 10 day visit to London, and with my Foreshore permit, spent many low tide hours mudlarking,in my humble, rookie way.
And I thrilled at every millisecond of it,even if my finds were few and far between!
Yes,Nicola, inspired this adventure, but so did all of you who post videos, too!
I’m saying this here, based on the assumption that EVERYONE is watching Nicola’s videos,so it’s the best place for me to say this to all of you.
The mudlarks.
I felt the foreshore pass under my feet,as wave upon wave splashed upon my boots.
I felt the exhilaration of a find, and the laugh-inducing discovery of a non- find!
I thrilled at seeing the mighty river suddenly racing east, chasing the moon.
I witnessed old bricks, somehow, impossibly tumble in the wake of the river.
I heard that subtle, hypnotic tinkling of the finer bits moving back and forth amongst the waves.
And I felt the cool September water upon my hands,as I welcomed so many lovely things into mine.
So yeah,thank you,MUDLARKS!
You affected my life.
❤️
