when george played m.e.n manchester 9,10,2012 i paid to be in the inner circle he was playing faster love he was doing his thing dancing he looked at me well i think he did i stretched out my hand in front of screaming female's and males he tapped my hand and he smiled at me it was magic i loved him so much im a straight guy i just loved his kindness his benevolent nature and most of all a lovely human r.i.p yog .

i was a teenager in the the mid 70's and ended up living in Switzerland when my dad was transferred there. I took a train to school in Zurich from Luzern and very quickly discovered that the train station news stands got fresh editions of the NME (as well as Sounds and Melody Maker) every Wednesday. I was always a fan of Tony's writings and would seek out his bylines first as a matter of course. I owed much of my musical taste to trusting the writers of the NME to curate my album purchases which usually meant I was buying reccords of bands I had never heard as the state of radio was prety dire in late 70's Switzerland. I don't remember Tony ever steering me wrong. Very cool to finally put an actual voice to one I know extremely well in print.

Died on Christmas Day, wow, it's too sad. Father Figure was a mystical song and when he performed Don't let The Sun with Elton on that stage he was at his peak he was like f@<a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/__ng">#__ng</a> Jesus. Unreal human being

OMG I wish I could share the pictures of Paddy and I. He wasn't a dog he was my hairy four legged brother. I morn him to this day 40 years later.
