Sometimes photos or videos can't capture the feel of a space, and that may be the case here. Because of the height of the walls, these seats look so claustrophobic but you seem very happy with it. I've been in herringbone seats where there was practically no elbow room, which really makes the space feel small, but that may not be the case here.

Two downsides of reverse herringbone vs. forward herringbone: When converted to a bed, you have to climb over the entire length of the bed to get in and out. Also when the tray is folded out, you can't slip past it to get to the aisle if you need to visit the (barely functional) bathroom.

As someone who spends the bulk of a flight with my nose pressed against the glass, I have to wonder if that's even possible on a reverse herringbone. I may have flown hundreds of flights on everything from a five-passenger DHC-2 Beaver to the quiet upper deck of a 747-400 but I'm still looking out the window watching the landscape more often than reading or watching a movie...

Paying business class for a 6 hour flight and the one sink doesn’t work.

    What a great video Dan!
The intro and little story was interesting to hear but also very important as a contextual primer for people who may not know all that info that really helps explain why AA and the A321XLR could be such a great combo.

I think the AA A321XLR looks great despite some other people who have given the American A321XLR some rather poor reviews, I think it looks pretty good and I would happily go out of my way to try and fly on it. I mean, being the first US carrier to launch the aircraft type and for it to be an aircraft that is so capable and revolutionary in terms of what it will allow American to do I think is something of an accomplishment in itself!

Additionally, I know people like to hate on American Airlines however, every time I have fun with them, it has been a pretty good experience. Honestly, I have had a worst experience with United than I’ve ever had with American. 😂 I really am looking forward to seeing them open up new roots using this aircraft, especially flights to South America as those are not often given premium aircraft or the newest products necessarily and flying in an A321XLR from Miami to say São Paulo Brazil 🇧🇷 would be amazing and a major improvement over the current offerings. 🤩

I really enjoyed the video and as per the usual, I enjoy all your videos…
Cheers 🥂 my friend!
Here’s to the A321XLR and American Airlines!
-Caleb

The engine runup before takeoff is a common procedure to shed any possible build up of ice on the engine fan and scan the engine indications after de-icing. If there are no obvious indications or odd vibrations noted from the cockpit after 30 seconds, brakes are released and off you go.

Why do they make it hard to look out of the window - I don’t want to see into the corridor with people moving around - very odd

Watched the whole review. I respect your opinion Dan but I have to disagree here. This is not a redemption for AA. The A321XLR business class hard product is not good. The seat is too narrow. The bathroom is a joke. Even, JetBlue's Mint product is better. I can't argue with the fact that the service from that flight attendant here was good but its clear the food and presentation hasn't improved. This will not bring AA to the standards of DL or UA.

Honestly, premium economy looks better than business class. I say that as someone who wants AA to succeed.
