I once fell with my bike. My dad shouted: 'oh no! ... is the bike ok?'

That is the advantage of having your children covered by the health insurance 😅

If your kid doesnt leave a playground like this with at least a bruised knee or elbow, it didn´t play!

2:00 most people in germany wouldnt call this a playground but rather a free amusement park, most playgrounds are not that fancy and big and most amusement parks arent free. Places like here are very rare but they do exist.

This way, children learn to independently assess risks, evaluate themselves, and develop their self-confidence and dexterity. Occasionally something happens, but very, very rarely. Children experience freedom and joy as a result. They are prepared for an independent life, especially for correctly assessing dangers.

german playgrounds are designed about two principals.
first one is "the dumbest animals learn from pain." and "if you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough."

No wanting to play at a playground as an adult isnt wrong, its actually a good sign that you are still willing to explore and discover new stuff.

As a parent of a toddler I can empathize with your reaction. But when they're on these dangerous-looking contraptions and they tell you in a stern voice to sit on a bench you realize they're more capable then you give them credit for.

In Germany, children learn through their own experience how far they can go in order to assess their own risk. And that is very important for their own development.
Germany's playgrounds are designed to be very safe, but with the aim of allowing children to discover things for themselves.
