I come from a German household, and everything you’re saying about the food and the cookies and everything is just so comforting to me. My Oma passed almost 10 years ago, and every day I miss her. This was definitely needed 🥹

It's great hearing about your life, Mr Thomas. Thanks for sharing. You are a great son and took great care of your Mom. I took care of my Father before he passed from COPD, as well. It sucks when our parents pass. I hope you have a great weekend. ❤

We used to have German Deli/Grocery in my city, it had been there since 1929. They closed about 6 years ago because the operators were in their 80s and the kids found new paths in life. I suppose that was the goal of these families…create a new life for their children? It’s sad, though. In my area of California there are now no German specialty stores within 50 miles.

This was lovely! Fun fact, head cheese “jelly” comes from boiling the entire head until all the meat falls off.  The bones produce a natural gelatin and after they chop the meat, they mix it with the “pot liquor” pour it in molds and it sets up into head cheese!

Howdy Morpheus. It's good to hear you talk about your mom. I remember your Bangkok salad video, just after she passed. I know that was tough for you. Thanks for staying the course, and making great ASMR for us.
