  My Dad called me on my 18 th birthday in 1968 from the VA hospital to tell me "you don't have to go I'm 100% disabled and you are my only son"that was one of the five or six times we talked in my life . That was the closest he came to saying I love you son. I hope I have lived up to the blessing thank you to all who serve  God bless you.

  Our government and a lot of the people of this great nation treated our Vietnam Veterans like crap when they came back! Absolutely ridiculous and wrong!!

  After my tour in Vietnam I served two years in Germany. When I returned home in 1972, I attended a pizza party with old high school guys, most who had somehow evaded the draft. At age 23 I felt like I was on my 3rd lifetime, while these guys were emotionally still in high school.

  My husband is 100% disabled, 101st Airborne 1968. Cancer from Agent Orange and Complex PTSD. All for nothing.

  For many who stepped foot onto that huey, they knew it was literally a roll of the dice if they would ever come back. Landing in a hot LZ was in some cases borderline suicidal just touching down

  For all who served when our country called that survived, fell in battle, or were taken prisoner and tortured mercilessly l call you heroes and thank you for defending us.

  My dad was a door gunner. It messed him up pretty badly, mentally and emotionally. He was not an easy person to live with after Vietnam. This senseless war ruined so many lives

  My oldest bro, served in Nam,that's what he called it.  My hero for sure and he now serves with God in heaven. Sgt Cruz Gonzales

  I was trained to become a Vietnam nurse when our warriors came home. I did my best at all times.
