I do love the fact that The Forgotten Realms have folks who are of Genie decent called Genasi, the elemental Planetouched cousins of Aasimir and Tieflings.

The Al-Qadim setting had a wizard class which was very similar to warlocks. It was called Sha'ir. You would summon and control genies. Legend spoke of a very powerful Sha'ir who had four genie wives; one of each element.

There was an adventuring party. I ran a campaign for. They found a ring a Djinn was bound in. She was beautiful, belly danced, even with scimitars, and a magic gem in a belly piercing that had hypnotic powers. She eventually was released by them unknowingly. However, she grew fond of the party. She had a lair, that was an ancient library with clay tablets, and parchment books. She had an interest in knowledge. She helped, played pranks, was very intelligent, though played at being an absent minded ditz at times. Especially if caught playing a prank and got them into some sort of issue with locals. She was sympathetic to them. But not bound to them. She could issue adventure missions and be a plot service. It was fun.

Have you looked up that saying that everybody seems to only know half of? “Jack all trades is a master of one” but that’s only half the saying and completely misses the point.

A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.
