  I’ll never forget my first 747 flight.  My dad and I flew from RDU to New York and hopped on a Pan Am 747 first class seat to Israel.  We landed back in the U.S. on December 21st 1988 at 12:03 a.m.  it was the experience of a lifetime that I’ll never forget.  Yes it was my first time out of the country but it was the flight that was the most exciting.  I’ve still got my first class Pan Am blue flight bags, boarding pass, Pan Am wings pin plus the cutlery I accidentally took.  The next morning we heard about Flight 103.  My dad had told me that our host family in Israel had tried convincing my dad to stay a bit longer but he said he had an uneasy feeling about it.  He was thinking of us getting attacked by terrorists on land so he wanted us to leave.  Little did he know he was right but it would have been an attack in the air, not on land.  I can’t imagine those poor people aboard that Pan-Am flight.  That must’ve been a horrible experience.  I pray for their souls.

  I had the privilege of visiting the cockpit of a 747 200 as a 12 year old in 1984 on a BA LHR to JHB flight. I'll never forget it.

  Mann… I wish I had ever fly in that era loud engine,Kai tak approach,those classics analog cockpits,trijet,British jet and this masterpiece of engineering a 747 etc. 🥲🥲🥲

  My very first flight was as a 6 year old in the Fall of 1980 on a 747 from BKK to SFO. The immensity of that plane was a sight to behold for a 6 year old. The last time I was involved with a 747 was during my time in the Navy, unloading 32 tricons (containers) off an Atlas Air. The 747 will always be dear to me when it comes to aviation.

  I saved my pennies and fulfilled a life long dream to fly upper deck in a Queen. I flew from Newark to Frankfurt on Lufthansa. It was everything I dreamed it would be. I’m proud to say I was able to accomplish my dream. I’m hoping to get one more trip in. Sounds like Lufthansa plans on flying their Queens well into the 30s so hopefully I have time.

  I remember that AA 747. LAX to New York the  summer of 1980. Although we had to dump fuel and return back  to Los Angeles because of a landing gear problem and light  smoke  wafting inside the cabin .  I remember too the Flight Attendants with crimped hair.
