The gatling gun saved the British during the Zulu wars. You have to love these videos that report history the way they want it to be seen. So many important things left out. Gandhi for one, instructed all the Indians to support the British against the Native Zulu people at the Bambatha Rebellion and he was prejudiced as well.

My Afrikaans (boer) grandmother told me a story about when the british came to burn their home on the highveld. When she, the eldest of many siblings, saw the British soldiers (called: rooineks ie red necks) coming across the flat landscape she had to defend her sisters. Her father and brothers were fighting elsewhere. She got buckets of acid and put them on the windowsill and tossed the contents on the soldiers, saving her sisters. Can you imagine how horrified she was when she in turn had a daughter who later married a british man...my dad. War shapes the lives of civilians, sadly.

Three of my Boer ancestors, the Blanckenberg sisters, died in a British concentration camp. They were 85, 87 and 89 years old.

THE Anglo boer war which effected all South Africans should be taught at schools to all young South Africans. Its hardly ever spoken about or mentionef which i think is really sad.

Racism is still a massive issue in South Africa. Misinformation still plays a big part in government.

Canada and south Africa have lots in common, the main difference is in Canada 90% of the native population died. If they had not died of various European disease Canada would look just like South Africa today

If I am not mistaken, this was before the Arikaner and long before Verwoerd.
The story that Verwoerd was the father of 'apartheid' was a SPIN by the Brittish.
The first 'appartheid' was against 'The Boer'.

The sad part wasnt the tough conditions underground, it was leaving their wife and children behind far away in the country.

loved it, it actually made me realise that the things i thought happened a very long time ago actually are very recent....bit by bit the truth about south african history is being told...eventhough there are many South african tribes which are part of the history but are ignored and sidelined and their bravery completely disregarded to favor the zulu narrative. there was no nation called zulus before 1818, instead there were nguni and thonga kingdoms...the zulu kingdom rose from the assimilations of these kingdoms and the consolidation of the kingdom called zulu today. a black person in natal 1810 was not a zulu, they belonged to their individual kingdom and would identify as such

I think we should start writing our own history because in Britain they don’t even teach kids about there imperial past that’s why they all ignored
