What an amazing mini documentary explaining how British empire controlled the routes and wrote the rules. Brilliant work, Al Jazeera , please keep making more mini documentaries like this in the future.

That little girl is a great example of the majority of people in this day and age. This documentary was very good and interesting start to finish.

I'd highly recommend people read 'Sapiens' Yuval Noah Harari - People, companies, countries and even empires are corporations.. an idea.

A good effort to bring out the economic disasters and the control of trade around the world.<br>I am sure lots can be produced regarding African and moroccan slavery and how French, Portuguese, and Spanish controlled Africa and Arab territories.

There was also the East Russia Company created in 1563 as a way to trade with the rising Russian empire. Its port headquarters was in Deptford.
