So they either would push you out, glitch the game (if they didn't work well enough), or even kill you.<br><br>I mean, they could be last minute collision detection. But considering they`re purpose in Sonic Mania....<br><br>Or maybe they are dual purpose.

A loose version of the Wrecking Ball used by Eggman in the GHZ boss fight as well as Splats are found in both the 2013 port of Sonic 1 AND in Sonic Mania's Debug modes.
