When I was a kid, watermelons were very sweet and juicy.<br>Now it's very hard to find one like that now.

One very important sign of a ripe, sweet watermelon is the white webbing on the rind. You can see this on the ripe, sweet melon on the right, and the one on the left does not have it. THE WHITE SPOTS OF WEBBING MEAN A BEE HAS POLLINATED THE VINE, AND THE MELON WILL ALWAYS BE SWEETER AND JUICIER! I had to cut and serve watermelons in a grocery store for 3 weeks, and I did a search on how to pick out sweet, ripe watermelons as soon as I was aware of my "mission". The site I found was an actual watermelon farm that was known for its quality watermelons, and they gave all the above signs PLUS THE SIGN THAT BEES HAD POLLINATED THE VINE! You can't fool Mother Nature!! 🤗🤩😍

I always give mine a good scrub with mild non toxic dish soap, inse well and dry just to fend off any bacteria from the field that might be lurking. Love watermelon! Thank you for this great video!
