Underdog typically refers to the person/team that you don't expect to win. Or the little guy that you want to win, but don't think he has much of a chance against the much bigger well trained guy.

The unintentional irony of having Lance Armstrong, who was stripped of EVERY cycling accolade he got for blood doping a couple years AFTER this movie released, lecturing about integrity ... is proof some people CAN see the future but use their power in very ... very silly ways.

When they were filming the scene where Justin keeps getting hit by the balls during their training exercises, the machine was firing the balls at 80 MPH. The hits Justin took were completely unscripted, and he took them all at full force.

When Vince Vaughn took a hit to the chest, he complained that it could potentially be dangerous. That’s when he learned that his costar Justin had been taking those hits for over an hour.

The crew even asked Justin if he was ok to drive home because he appeared somewhat disoriented.

Dodgeball used to be super common High School and Middle School activity when I was growing up in the 1980s and 90s. Basically, we had gym classes, where we were supposed to go to exercise for one hour three times a week as part of school. Whenever the gym coach (the teacher for this gym class) did not have a lesson plan, or was hung over and didn't feel like teaching that day, we would play dodgeball. It was supposed to be a simple and easy game that we could play with very little attention, and because it was always on days when the teacher wasn't feeling good, and not paying attention, it always turned into trying to murder each other with the ball. I should probably point out that gym teacher was often the job they gave to someone who graduated from college, but was burnt out and didn't want to do anything back then. Some of my gym teachers were really good and loved kids and wanted us to be healthy, and would do anything for us, and the other half were garbage people who had given up on life.
