  The mob boat thing is really simple, they just automatically get in and can't get out on their own, meaning the melee ones are incapable of hurting you unless you get close

  To be completely fair normal skyblock basically starts at the point where he acquires a lava bucket. I think you could handle it. Also there is a litany of modpacks to both increase the ease and amount of things to do in skyblock. SkyFactory, Agrarian Skies, and Stone Block are excellent examples

  I hate being that guy, but I wanted to let you know, just in case you did not know this, that the trap door thing DOES NOT require two trap doors. It can be a single trap door and any solid surface below you, from slabs, to full blocks, to pistols, you only need to close the trap door on your head per say, as long as the height of the floor beneath you is one block or a little less you will go prone. I believe pistons, both normal ones with no blocks, and a sticky one with a block attached to it, pushed down onto your head will also make you prone. In fact in any minecraft world this is the best way to mine for resources. You clear away a 5 block surface area, that hasn't been dug before, by digging out one block while prone. Removing that one block will allow you to see the sides, top, bottom, and the next block ahead of you for a total of 5 revealed spaces. This is the best and most efficient way to mine in Java edition, for the price of mining one block you uncover 5 more, thus leading to ore discovery very very quickly. I hope my paragraph of blabbering made at least some sort of sense and was helpful lol.

  The reason why he did the mob farm like that is that he has no water so it's not that the farm is effective is that he has no water the farm he built is not very efficient

  East Palestine, Ohio. Train carrying 100,000 pounds of vinyl chloride, huge carcinogen, can damage and kill organs under extreme exposure, affects the central nervous system. Bad bad stuff. And the EPA burnt it. Which went into the air. That we breathe.. and instead of building an actual good dam to prevent the contaminated water from spreading, they half-assed it and one small rainstorm made it collapse, making it even worse and going even more into the drinking water. The EPA.
