I completely agree! I am a guitar player and I can say for certain blues is very much its own thing with it's own set of musical uniqueness and dimensions as well as challenges. Blues soloing is all about melody, rhythm and phrasing and these are skill as any musician knows takes a lifetime to craft and hone. Also in blues something which I had to really get used to when I first got into it early in my guitar journey, Is that unlike some genres you often don't have a lot of room or space to shine on many of the songs and standards, You have to weave between the other instruments and singer while contributing but not getting in the way and also you have to have a very good sense of timing and rhythm because if you start rushing or dragging there is nowhere for you to hide. But it's such a wonderful genre that is full of emotion, soul and authenticity and really really fun to play.

Bruce Harris, thank you so much. I know most of these concepts but you elaborated on them so well. I know your etudes will be a great tool to bringing my playing to the next level. It was a pleasure to hear you and to hear your teaching style!
