  I love how most people start watching this movie and think that Sadness is a problem that needs to be taken care of/kept in check, and then by the end we’re all sobbing and realizing how important she is. It’s so real for a lot of people to try to push “bad feelings” down constantly until they get older and learn it’s ok to be emotional and to feel everything.

  When I first watched Bing Bong&apos;s sacrifice I lost it. That shaky voice when he said &quot;take her to the moon for me&quot; 🥺<br>And Riley does have a good life and kind parents, but I don&apos;t think an 11 year old kid would be able to fully understand and appreciate that yet. Like in that moment, she just knew she didn&apos;t want to be in San Francisco. She didn&apos;t want to move and just wanted to go back &quot;home&quot;.<br>I love the message of this movie, it&apos;s so good. As much as it sucks when you&apos;re sad, you need it to have room for joy. No rain, no flowers 🤍

  I hypothesize that if they&apos;d just let Sadness do her job in the beginning, Riley would&apos;ve already acknowledged those memories as sad now and would&apos;ve avoided bringing them up in class because they would make her cry.

  This movie is so good at explaining how freaking COMPLICATED emotions are! One second you&apos;re happy, the next you&apos;re sad, and then just pissed off! And then you just go back to being happy again and you just can&apos;t explain why. &nbsp;She&apos;s only 11 years old and learning how to be herself.

  the problem was the parents were unintentionally not helping her. They kept praising her for being their happy girl without realizing she couldn&apos;t be the one to be happy for all of them

  Tearing up over Bing Bong is 100% legit. It is the symbol of the end of childhood, loss of easy, innocent, carefree times you&apos;ll never get back.

  Even if Riley wasn&apos;t going through everything else, and was &quot;just&quot; depressed, you can&apos;t reason yourself out of depression.<br>Your life can look perfect from the outside, but that doesn&apos;t change how you feel emotionally.<br>🤷🏻‍♀️

  “They need her to be happy” and that’s the problem right there, not everyone can be happy all the time. Especially not a child going through so many big changes in her body and in her life.

  One common misunderstanding I&apos;ve seen people have, is mistakenly thinking Inside Out is about the emotions literally controlling Riley. In actuality, everything being felt is what Riley is feeling and experiencing, and these emotion characters are simply the visual/narrative representation of what is going on inside her. Although adults are the ones who understand the film and feel impacted by its messages, I&apos;ve heard many times over the years that the framework for discussing emotions has been very useful for children who have seen the movie.
