  My favorite thing about the Sisters is the unique contradiction of their central premise. &nbsp;On the one hand, they&apos;re the pinnacle of what humanity can be, not only are they powerful warriors but they&apos;re also capable of being the most compassionate faction in the Imperium. A Sister of Battle is, pound for pound, the most likely human in the setting to comfort a scared child or lay down her life in defense of a civilian or a wounded Guardsman. They&apos;re not compassionate to EVERYONE of course, but for the people who haven&apos;t earned their ire, they&apos;re probably seen as literal angels as often as not. On the other hand, they&apos;re also essentially a whole faction of death squads with tons of body horror and torture involved. They mercilessly slaughter any they deem heretics, with extreme brutality that straddles the line of zealous cruelty at the best of times. And the best narratives involving the Sisters are those which examine what happens when those two roles come into conflict with each other. Great example of this is Sister Argenta from the Rogue Trader cRPG, while I won&apos;t spoil the details of her conflict, her story is nonetheless a very solid examination of the internal contradiction that defines the Sisters as a whole.

  How i learned about the Sisters of battle was a drawing of ork commandos in makeup with the flag saying &quot;Bolta Bitchez&quot; and zero further explanations.

  Fun fact, the first mention of this faction was killing a member of the Rainbow Warriors in Rogue Trader. So these women were already clapping Space Marines well before their current incarnation.

  Ahhh, absolutely adore the Sisters of Battle, they&apos;re the perfect representation of what makes the Imperium so interesting as a faction. The pinnacle of the indomitable human spirit, but they&apos;re also the most violent and hateful the Imperium has to offer, all while taking the gothic aesthetic of the Imperium to it&apos;s illogical extreme.

  What pisses me off is that the Age of Apostasy I think would be a great book series for GW to do. Problem is, Space Marines were hardly involved in the Age of Apostasy, so of course we&apos;ll never get books on any of it...
