A friend of mine came home from work one day and his English mastiff did not greet him. He went looking found him in the yard with a guy who had jumped his fence to hide from cops. The dog had trapped him in a corner. Apparently he had been there for quite a while according to how long the cops had been looking for him. He left the dog there until Police arrived.

My Great Dane cornered a thief at our neighbours administration office just by standing before him.

I appreciate when you say you don’t have experience with certain dogs… no blagging and lying. Much appreciated! Good list too!

I rescued a 2 yr old male great pyrenees. He had been abused with a shock collar. He was a sweet as could be to me, my cats, and family but would tear the throat out of anything that tried to come near us.

The Kangal/Anatolian is a great dog if you get them for what they are bred to do - LGDs.

I'm 49, I got my first rottie in 1995, I've had 4 of them now. We just our newest rott puppy 4 months ago, he's 7mo and 93lb, absolutely fantastic buddy! So smart, food motivated, eager to play and he's exactly like every rott before him. Excellent large breed dogs 🥳🥰🐾🐾🐾🦖

My wife had 3 brazilian mastiff and an English mastiff growing up. She confirms the brazilian mastiffs are in fact ass holes! Extremely protective of the home and kids but wanted to kill anyone who came over or walked by the home. But the English mastiff was the best! So gentle, patient, and well mannered.

I was told of a woman who had her English Mastiff sleeping in the corner of her shop, when a really sketchy person came in (dressed to rob). The dog, startled, jumped up and barked; sketchy did an about face, and exited the store. A young, female customer said I want one of those!

I love my Rottie girl! And so does every kid in the neighborhood. Strangers and delivery drivers, not so much!
