I took a shot every time James said "HK MP5K" so when he finally announced the $2700 MSRP it didn't hurt me. Of course, now I need a new liver and it seems that somebody has gone and shit my pants, so I guess I'll call it a draw.

Great they listened to the consumer. Except the majority of us who said make it affordable.

James, I was told that the reason they use the notch instead of the peep is that HK feels that the peep sight is best utilized when the rear sight is held close to the eye like on the m4 or like a full sized HK with a stock but on something that is a small pistol designed to be held much further away from the eye like this, the notch is much easier to use which is why handguns don’t come with a rear peep either. They come with a notch.

The 9mm HK MP5 was my SWAT duty weapon and the most accurate system I ever shot. If I lived in a free state, I would buy one in a heartbeat. Take my money HK!

Well I could just go to Palmetto State Armory and I could make an AR9 for 419$ and half a turkey sandwich

The notched rear sight is more open for shooting without a stock attached which is why the mp5k came with it originally. When the stocks came out it was a popular upgrade to get them with the diopler sight instead and hk offered the guns both ways. Its worth saying that the DOJ HK94 guns were configured with the notched rear sights instead of the diopler as well as they wanted the extra field of view.

Since the SP5 and SP5K guns are configured as pistols the notched sight is the "correct" option although yes most will want to replace it if they are adding a stock.
